Friends Again

a Poem by Raquel Swann

Inside the depths of my heart

Through the great hall

There’s an office

With a bookcase

On the middle shelf

Lies an empty space

Between the names of two others.

I’ve reserved the spot since

We parted ways.

There’s no need to fuss

Or move things around.

It’s always been open

Awaiting your return.

Welcome back,

I’ll help you carry your belongings.
